Service

Our company is built on customer satisfaction. We’ve all been entrusted to deliver excellent service in every instance. Service comes naturally to the SMG Team, whether it’s for our clients or our community. SMGers get jazzed about things that are important to them and we support what our employees are passionate about: Harvesters, Kansas City Zoo, Operation Breakthrough, The Children’s Place and Literacy Kansas City just to name a few.

Respect

There are lots of ways to earn respect: generosity, honesty, kindness, etc. SMG employees exemplify these characteristics daily, through simple things like personally escorting a new hire to their next meeting or donating PTO to help an associate in need. Respect for others starts at the top. Employee feedback is not only encouraged, but sought out, both through formal channels including employee surveys, executive lunches and cross-functional teams, as well as informally via candid conversations. Basically, we would have an open door policy...if we had doors.

Integrity

At SMG, what we do, what we say and what we say we do are all the same even if it means having a tough conversation. Our strong client partnerships reflect the ownership and accountability inherent in our employees. The best compliment we receive is when our clients mistake an SMG employee for one of their own.

Excellence

Excellence is not an exception at SMG, but the rule. Our success is built on the desire to do better than good enough, just as we encourage our clients to strive for the Top Box. SMG recognizes and rewards the pursuit of excellence, and our clients recognize it, too, as demonstrated by the many employee awards and client accolades received by SMG associates.

Teamwork

Teamwork has become a buzzword in the business world today. It goes beyond that at SMG. In fact, you rarely hear the word “teamwork”, because it’s engrained in everything we do. To deliver the caliber of insights that SMG is known for, we maintain an “all hands on deck” mentality. This mentality goes beyond the meeting room. Some of the best ideas come from collaboration while preparing for Corporate Challenge, supporting our favorite charities, or hanging out at a Crossroads First Friday party. You can work anywhere, but it’s where you work and the people you work with that make it all worthwhile.
