How do outdoor diners rate your restaurant experience?

This month, with the weather finally beginning to warm up, we looked at how the experience changes for diners who choose to eat outside.

We found guests who dine outside give lower Speed of Service scores than guests who eat inside and are 38% more likely to mention Speed negatively in their comments. As a result, patio diners have a less satisfying overall experience.

As your guests begin to sit outside, staff members should make sure they’re treating the patio as an extension of the dining room and delivering the same high level of service.
Service is the same for indoor, outdoor patrons
